Italian court removes children from off-grid family living in forest

I have a friend who has been living in Italy for around 36 years now and the other day she shared this story with me and another friend.

What is your opinion? Who is right? The family or the authorities?

Personally, I think the parents are right, but I'd like to hear your opinions. Although, it's true maybe I'd need more information  before I make up my mind.

I'm of the view that the 'under-age children' are victims of the selfish attitude of their parents. Living on their own doesn't mean denying them to give the opportunity of having a full scholl attendance, socializing with equals, and living conveniently, not in such as precarious and unhealthy condition. That's my opinion.

    1. Hello Carlos,
I don't know enough about the situation, but at the moment Italy is divided regarding this topic. Why do you think the parents are selfish? Maybe their kids are happy living like that. In fact I think our society is far from perfect...
      A couple of corrections:
      - denying them the opportunity
      - school (I'm sure this is a typo)
      - their equals
      - unhealthy conditions.
Thanks so much for sharing your opinion.

I have no doubt that they are happy, the problem is how they are going to face an increasingly competitive labour market future. Unfortunately, our life is not a bed roses, a convenient education and school attendance is required to have a good CV. As you've said we don't have enough information but I do not believe appropiate that they have to live long term in such as idyllic an utopic life.

    1. Hi again,
One thing I remember my friend told me is that at least one of the girls had sat an exam for her age and had passed with excellent marks.
      Just two things:
      -a bed of roses
      - I don't think living such an idyllic utopian life long term is a good idea
      Thanks once again.
