“The elephant in the room” I think that it would mean a big problem or issue that everyone is aware of, but nobody wants to talk about.

- “el tema del que nadie quiere hablar”
- “hacer la vista gorda”
I really like this idiom because it’s such a vivid image — you can almost imagine a huge elephant standing there while everyone pretends it doesn’t exist!
